Joint pain is a common health condition and may result from one of several known causes. Although usually the results of an injury or sprain, joint pain can results from underlying conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

How is it treated?

One of our physiotherapists will assess you and will work with you to put together a rehabilitation programme often involving soft tissue techniques as well as strengthening and stretching exercises. Exercising under supervision aims to improve joint mobility, and muscle tone and ensure a safer return to function.

What does treatment involve?

Physiotherapy is often prescribed by GPs and orthopedic specialists as a treatment for people with joint pain. This may be limited to daily walking and stretching exercises, or include muscle-strengthening exercises under supervision. Measures like taping techniques, soft tissue massage, and mobilisation contribute to improved joint function and flexibility.
