Sporting Injuries

Playing sport and doing regular exercise is good for your health, but sometimes you can injure yourself. Sports injuries can be caused by not warming up properly before exercising, pushing yourself too hard, using inadequate equipment or even by an accident.

How is it treated?

At P Bassett Physiotherapy Sports injury rehabilitation or ‘rehab’ is a structured programme designed by physiotherapists for people who have sustained a sporting injury. Depending on the type of injury you have sustained, your programme will include a number of elements which may include strengthening and flexibility exercises, mobilization, pain relief techniques and functional skills. At P Bassett Physiotherapy, we aim to maximise recovery by tailoring the rehabilitation to your individual goals and monitoring your progress throughout.

What does treatment involve?

Whether you have been injured whilst playing high level sport or during recreational activity, the physiotherapists at P Bassett Physiotherapy will be able to design you a full rehabilitation programme to help you get back to full fitness. Our physiotherapists have a vast amount of experience in treating a wide variety of sports injuries and post operative sporting complaints.

In Summary

Your rehabilitation programme designed by our dedicated musculoskeletal team will improve your recovery in the following ways: Optimizing the efficiency of scar tissue repair and promoting the healing of tissues, stretching muscles, fascia or connective tissue and ligaments to increase range of movement, relieve muscle spasm or stiffness, facilitate removal of irritants in the injured area and by advising on exercises to strengthen weakened musculature to regain full function.
