Joint mobilisation is a "hands-on" treatment, using carefully graded and controlled oscillations, applied to specific joints with the intention of restoring normal movement, thereby improving function and reducing pain.

What does treatment involve?

These techniques may or may not be uncomfortable depending on your complaint and the aims of the treatment. It is particularly effective when combined with other treatments such as soft tissue and muscle stabilising techniques, along with exercise.

In Summary

Mobilisation can be a very effective method of treatment, but must be performed by a fully qualified Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Our Physiotherapists at P Bassett Physiotherapy have extensive experience in joint mobilisation, and are experts in assessing when it can be of benefit.
